About Indigenous Mining Medic Jobs WA:

The role of the SEM Specialist Medical Training is to evaluate and map learning objectives within a well-defined business process or activity in order to deliver the SEM team a medical training program across West Australia Iron Ore assets.

Day to day your responsibilities as an ESO will change, therefore this will be quite an interesting role. You will develop medical educational content and materials to support learning outcomes and facilitate exercises for training purposes. An additional piece of work will be to implement and maintain a medical governance program for professional ESO’s and Paramedics to ensure they remain compliant with governing bodies. You will oversee the safe delivery of competency based medical training for ESO’s, Paramedics and volunteers. A requirement of this role will be to provide paramedic coverage when required.

Travel will be required in this role. Their location options include being based in Newman, Port Hedland, or Perth, however you will need to travel across all company mine sites for planned activities such as training or internal meetings.

Their roster options can be flexible to meet your needs and the required delivery aspects of the role (options may include for example 2/2 (COVID19 Response Roster Requirement), 8/6, 12/9, 8/6/4/3) and will be discussed at interview stage.

The Specialist Medical Training role is also accountable for:

  • Implement a structured process to better evaluate the needs, requirements and pain points of SEM team across WAIO
  • Execute and monitor a medical training solution that is sustainable and flexible to deal with the demands of the business.
  • Review all current Medical Training Policy and Procedure and facilitate development of new Training procedures and assessments as required.
  • Engage with other subject matter experts to explain purpose and to elicit the information needed to define capability needs.
  • Ensure all medical training resources are current and are compliant with training standards and procedures

Requirements for Aboriginal Mining Medic Jobs WA:

This role is only open to Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

This role will ideally suit an individual with an ability to autonomously solve complex problems, have high engagement and planning skills and an ability to work as part of a team.

Trainer & Assessor qualifications are highly desired and the right candidate will have intricate knowledge and expertise of the Emergency Response aspects of Security and Emergency Management.

A requirement of this role is to have either a Bachelor or Paramedicine or a Diploma of Emergency Healthcare. Demonstrated Paramedic Training experience is highly desirable.
