Do you have a photo from your workplace showcasing the extreme conditions paramedics work in? You should enter this photo competition!
Adventure Medic are looking for original images that showcase the wide range of environments medics work in and the different cases they come across. These can include (but are not limited to) expedition, wilderness, military, mountain, ski, endurance, event, remote and offshore medicine. They are also interested in unusual photographs of medical interventions, training or simulation. **Remember that patient confidentiality must be respected, and that images should be appropriate for dissemination to a worldwide audience.
This year’s competition is going to be judged by Adventure Photographer, Canon Master and F-Stop Global Icon Krystle Wright. Krystle’s incredible adventure images have been featured in National Geographic, Outside Magazine, and a host of other international publications.
The winning image and the runner-up images will be announced on 1 April and will be displayed on the Adventure Medic website.
The Overall Winner will receive a Remote Medical International First Aid Kit (RRP 195 USD), containing Bleeding Control, PPE, Sprains and Strains and Wound Procedure Packs and a Mountain Equipment Helium 3.8 sleeping mat (RRP 80 GBP).
The first runner-up will receive also a Mountain Equipment Helium 3.8 sleeping mat.
Adventure Medic asks contestants to submit images via email. In the body of the email, please include: your name(s), home address, contact telephone number and a caption detailing the subject of the image, and the location where it was taken.
Images should be submitted as .jpg files of up to 3 Mb in size and at least 80% quality. To have a chance of winning, you must also be able to produce the image at a resolution of 6 megapixels of higher (2832 pixels by 2128 pixels or higher) on request. Please note that by entering the competition, you give Adventure Medic and IRHC non-exclusive permission to use the images, credited to you, in online and printed form.
Entrants are limited to three images per person.
The deadline for submission is midnight on 31 March 2017.
So many of our students are interested in becoming an Adventure Medic, and for a good reason. As an Adventure Medic you will be able to travel the world and provide expert medical care in exotic destinations from the depths of the Borneo jungles to the harsh environment of Antartica. Additional survival skills are a pre-requisite for this type of role where experienced and well-credentialed paramedics are selected.
