Ambulance Victoria invites applications for a casual Ambulance Transport Attendant, based in Wangaratta/Shepparton (Hume).
Ambulance Transport Attendants (ATA) provide care and transport to Non-Emergency patients. The primary objective of this role is to provide an effective and efficient service in the transport of Non-Emergency pre and post hospital patients between home and medical facilities, to assist in achieving service goals and targets relating to Non-Emergency transport.
The rosters fall between the hours of 6am and 8pm Monday to Sunday (including public holidays). The successful applicant will be required to drive and operate all vehicle types.
To apply for the ATA position, applicants must hold a Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) or equivalent and not less than 400 hours of supervised clinical practice. A current Victorian driver license is also essential.
This position would be suitable for a recently retired paramedic, stay at home mum or an ATA from another non-emergency organization. The applicant is required to live within 45 – 60 minutes’ drive from the work location. This is due to fatigue issues and limited notice requirements for requesting staff to attend duty.
Upon commencement with Ambulance Victoria, all successful applicants must be available to attend a three week induction program in South Melbourne, from late May 2018 on wards. The induction will be based around office hours, Monday to Friday for the duration of the program.
The successful applicant will be required to pass a medical and physical fitness assessment as determined by Ambulance Victoria.
