APC Student Alan Hawke – Ambulance Volunteering Experience

Ambulance Volunteering Experience

Alan Hawke, APC Diploma Graduate

Changing Lives Podcast

Alan Hawke encourages all Australian Paramedical College graduates to volunteer with their local Ambulance service as the experience is invaluable.

He explains that in some states you can volunteer as an Ambulance driver with no prior medical knowledge. Doing this allows you to observe the workings of the paramedic’s clinical care. Alan encourages all students, even early on in their studies, to try and take advantage of these opportunities.

Going the extra mile to find a mentor to guide you along the way will also give you the edge you need to gain excellent experience before jumping into the work force.
