About the role
They are currently seeking a motivated, passionate and proactive individual to join their Emergency Services team where you will be a key contributor to the Emergency Services and broader Emergency Response teams. The group provides emergency response to all incidents relating to BHP assets and personnel, as well as community support in emergencies and maintaining passive on-site security operations.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
- Certificate IV Healthcare (Ambulance)
- Certificate III Mine Emergency Response & Rescue
- Cert III Public Safety (Fire & Emergency Operations)
- Cert II Security (plus South Australia Security Licence)
- Senior First aid and Occupational First Aid Certificates
- Previous experience in emergency operations (fire, rescue, medical and/or security)
In this role you will:
- Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
- Demonstrate a commitment to training by maintaining a state of operational readiness
- Ensure that all emergency services assets are in operational order and maintained to operational guidelines
- Attend emergencies or incidents on and off-site
- Positively contribute to safety and department meetings
- Participate in workplace investigations as required
- Demonstrate a commitment to supporting individual, team and site objectives
- Support continuous improvement by constantly looking for opportunities to improve work practices and procedures
- Provide operational leadership to Emergency Service Volunteers during emergencies
- Maintain high standards in all emergency service and security tasks
- Build relationships with other departments and employees to ensure problems are addressed and resolved effectively
