Desired qualifications for event first responder medic jobs

  • Have first responder qualifications (minimum HLT41115 – Certificate IV in Health Care) / be a student in a health care profession
  • Current police check and working with children’s check (or prepared to obtain one)
  • Experience in treating patients in a pre-hospital environment
  • Have access to a car to travel to events

 Other specifications

  • Have excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Able to attend a 1 day orientation and induction training session
  • Available for a variety of shifts primarily on weekend

How to become a first responder

Get your foot in the door as a first responder by training with  the Australian Paramedical College. Our goal is to provide the highest standard of training for all students. APC offers first responder qualifications by way of a number of accredited paramedical training courses. The entry-level first responder paramedical qualification is the  HLT41115 – Certificate IV in Health Care. This is a 12-18 month course to prepare you for life as an event medic for instance. From there, you would develop your training and move up to the HLT51015 – Diploma of Paramedical Science, opening up further paramedic job opportunities in the private sector.
