Patient Ambulance Transport Officer

A position is available for a reliable and ‘*fully experienced Patient Transport Officer’* to start from our Blackburn Depot.


One would need all verifiable qualifications and medical fitness certification in order to apply for this position which includes your latest CPR and updates.

Meditrans Patient Transport Pty Ltd is a unique boutique family company providing High, Medium, and low Acuity non-emergency patient transport services for over 26 years. They do not contract to AV or Government and only operate day shifts.Shifts start from Blackburn.

Seeking only Australian experienced casual Patient Transport Officers and maybe an Ambulance Transport Attendant to complement our services providing high quality patient care transporting patients with a wide variety of medical conditions in accordance to Meditrans policies and Non-Emergency Patient Transport Regulations.


Key responsibilities will include:

Make confident decisions with regard to patient assessments, care and interventions as required prior to patient pick up and during patient transfer and report in accordance with Meditrans policies, NEPT CPP’s regulations and within prescribed scope of practice.

Able to perform independently and problem solve as well as work collaboratively with other team members as required.

Demonstrate proficiency in written and verbal communication and able to provide clear concise patient hand over to health care professionals and in-patient care records.

Maintain contact with office controller to ensure staff safety and accurate and timely job allocation.
Present and promote a positive and professional image of Meditrans to other health professionals, clients, including patients and the general public.

Qualifications and Experience:

Patient Transport Officer – Minimum qualification of Cert III Non-Emergency Patient Transport.
Ambulance Transport Attendant – Qualified as Ambulance Transport Attendant, Ambulance Officer.

Applicants will be required to hold a current full Victorian Driver’s License with a clean record and have the ability to drive in both city and country traffic conditions.

A current satisfactory National Police Check and recent CPR update is required for employment in this industry. A Working with Children Check may be required after initial introductory casual employment period.
