FAQ – Are Australian Paramedical College qualifications recognised by Queensland Ambulance?

All of our courses are Nationally Recognised and equip graduates with industry skills that allow them to work as a Medic in the private sector. The HLT51020 – Diploma of Emergency  Health Care is the highest level qualification achievable in the Vocational Education Sector.

To work for any state ambulance service as a registered Paramedic (not just in Queensland), you’ll need a Bachelor of Paramedic Science degree (or equivalent). If you don’t have the right grades for direct entry into university, you can use the Diploma to gain entry into university, which is why many of our students are studying with us!

Options to get into university:

1. Apply direct to university or by way of an admissions service

2. Complete the HLT51020 – Diploma of Emergency Health Care then apply to university, using your skills and experience in lieu of a high ATAR.

You can complete the APC Diploma online, work in the private sector to gain clinical experience and confidence. Depending on which university you choose, you could gain valuable credits towards the degree, meaning you won’t have to repeat some subjects. Of course, we do encourage you to conduct your own research, because not all universities offering the Bachelor of Paramedic Science degree are the same.
