Located in Box Hill, Epworth Eastern is a state-of-the-art facility and includes a 8 bed ICU, 10 bed HDU/CCU and 10 theatres.
Epworth Eastern maintains a broad clinical focus from cardiac, vascular, orthopaedic and general surgery to oncology, urology and endoscopy services. From consultation and detection through to surgery, Epworth Eastern aims to work with patients and their families to ensure they have the best experience possible.
In 2018, the commencement of Epworth Eastern’s expansion and redevelopment project will grow the hospital and introduce a brand new emergency department to the region.
The Role
Epworth Eastern are seeking Patient Transport Orderlies to join Orderly Team. The primary function of the Orderly is to provide assistance to clinical departments with patient transportation, assistance with care activities and ensuring maintenance and provision of equipment and resources. There may be opportunity for training in the Environmental Services team.
Your duties will include the following:
- Transport patients and patient bed/trolleys
- Responsible for the sharps and linen skips on the wards
- Provide excellent customer service
- Contribute to the performance of the team
Skills & Experience
- Good customer service skills
- The availability to work shifts between 6.30 am and 11.00 pm
- Knowledge of safe manual handling practice
- Previous experience in a health care environment is desirable
- Previous orderly/nursing assistant experience is desirable
