About the role

The role of the Patient Transport Officer works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure that clients are transported in a safe and timely manner to and from required venues; that items are couriered as required; general administrative duties.

The essence of this role:

• Safe and timely transport of clients to and from required venues.
• Couriering resident related items as required.
• Performing computer data entry, receiving and sending emails, electronic filing and general clerical and administrative duties as required by the Fleet & Transport Manager.
• Washing and cleaning including general maintenance of Patient Transport vehicles ,packaged and pool motor vehicles and associated items.

 About you

• Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
• A current NSW Driver’s License (Class C-Car license) and safe driving record (LR license desirable).   Prepared to undertake the Driver Assessment Test if required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Health and/or Aged Care Sectors, with experience in transporting frail, aged and / or vulnerable people desirable but not essential.
• Presents professionally and takes pride in personal appearance.
• Senior First Aid Certificate desirable.
• Confident at using computers, including Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, using relevant software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Empathy and patience.
• Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
• Customer service focus.
