Emergency care starts before Paramedics even arrive

Whilst it’s the Paramedics that are trained to provide life-saving care in emergency situations, the reality is that emergency care starts before a 000 call is even made.

This is why we encourage all of our readers, students, and graduates to share their knowledge of the ambulance system and encourage everyone to partake in a first aid or CPR course because you just never know when an emergency situation may present itself.

How to call an Ambulance

1. Call Triple Zero (000)

2. Ask for an ambulance

3. Answer the control/despatch centre officer’s questions

4. Keep calm and communicate clear instructions

5. Do not hang up. Stay on the line for more instructions
