Emergency Services Officer – Cloudbreak

FIFO 2/1 Roster

Reporting to the Emergency Services Supervisor, this role is responsible for assisting with and participating in the day to day operations of the emergency service station and in relation to completing various activities required for the preparation, prevention, response and recovery practices to all site risks and emergency events in a safe, timely and effective manner. This role ensures that both corporate and site policies, procedures, plans and guidelines relating to emergency, medical and security management are achieved at all times.

Key accountabilities will include:

• Work closely with the Emergency Response Team
• Participate in Training programs for site personnel
• Participate in site audits and site security

Qualifications and skills required:

• Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and/or
• Certificate III in Public Safety (Fire Fighting and Emergency Operations)
• Pump operations
• Drive vehicles under operational conditions
• Undertake land search and rescue
• Cert IV in Pre-Hospital Care
• Cert IV in OHS
• Cert IV in Training and Assessing
• WA Class HR Driver’s license
• ICAM Lead investigator; or equivalent
• Lead or Internal Auditor (preferred)

Key Accountabilities:

• To provide medical services, including AOD testing, where required and ensure medical facilities are maintained in an operationally ready status
• To provide leadership and training services for the emergency response volunteer group and other site departments in emergency management practices
• To provide service delivery in emergency preparedness planning, high risk rescue plans and in field interactions with workplace personnel
• To provide advice and conduct inspections relating to cyclone preparedness, emergency preparedness and bushfire readiness across the business
• To prepare and maintain emergency response equipment to operational standards ensuring effective responses to site emergency events

• To develop and review safe work instructions, guidelines, procedures, plans and policies relating to emergency and medical management practices adhering to industry best practices
• Conduct investigations and site safety audits using the appropriate tools and systems
• Provide visible safety leadership through leading by example and positive safety behaviours to all personnel
• Provide guidance and advice to line managers, safety representatives and in Health and Safety systems and practices while supporting site HSE activities
• Other activities delegated by HSES Leadership Team
