About the role:

They currently have opportunities available for Emergency Services Officers on a roster which promotes work/life balance. These roles are based in Central Queensland and single person’s camp accommodation will be available, if required. Reporting to the Security and Emergency Management Supervisor, within the Health, Safety and Environment team.

Emergency Services Officer your duties will include:

  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
  • Maintaining systems to ensure emergency prevention, preparedness, response and recovery is effective.
  • Liaising with Operational Leaders to ensure emergency management requirements are coordinated.
  • Management of specific Security and Emergency Management (SEM) projects aligned with HSE Business Plan.
  • Maintaining operational emergency response readiness.
  • Assisting with site security, security access systems, and front of house duties.
  • Following BHP Medical treatment and drug protocols / guidelines.
  • Completing reports, clinical notes and other documentation.
  • Drug and Alcohol collection.

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience in an emergency response role in the emergency medical arena.
  • Leadership skills and experience in managing people in emergency situations (Command and Control).
  • Outstanding organization and communication skills.
  • Exposure to drug and alcohol testing and Health, Safety and Environment protocols is essential.
  • Relevant First Aid Qualification.
  • Current Open “C” Class Manual Drivers License.
  • Previous experience working in remote areas whilst not essential, will be highly regarded.
  • Certificate IV Workplace Trainer & Assessor whilst not essential, is highly desirable.
