If you’re new to APC, we want to make sure you have all the information you need to begin your study journey with us. Here’s some commonly asked questions we’ve answered to help you get started today!

Like any Registered Training Organisation or University in Australia, there are certain entry requirements which need to be met before applying to study at APC.

At APC we look for commitment, passion and the like to ensure you will be committed to completing the course. We want to see our students succeed and give people of all backgrounds the chance to enter the emergency health care industry.

No. Most of your course is completed online so you can study in your own time, wherever you’re based in Australia!

Course duration depends on an individual’s study load however, here is an estimated time frame for each APC course.

  • Diploma of Emergency Healthcare: 24 months
  • Certificate IV in Health Care: 18 months
  • Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport: 12 months

All APC courses are flexible and can be completed online, in the comfort of your own home.

The only in-person element is attending Clinical Workshops when the time comes.

No! When you choose to study with APC, your Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) does not matter.

If you didn’t get the ATAR you were hoping for, it doesn’t mean you’ll never be able to get to university, it just means you need to consider alternative ways of getting there. The good news is, if you’re aiming for a career in the emergency health care sector but don’t have the results you need to go to university right now, a pathway course with APC is a great option for you. Yes. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) are applicable for all APC courses and are available for students who wish to have previous experience and learning recognised as part of their enrolment. Please refer to the Recognition Policy for more information.

You’ll gain all the fundamental knowledge you need from your online learning and when you’re ready, you will attend an in-person Clinical Workshop.

You will be invited to come to one of our locations in Queensland, NSW, Victoria or Western Australia depending on where you’re based.

Finding the right Clinical Placement opportunity is for each student to decide, however we are certainly here to assist.

APC partners with a number of quality and supportive healthcare organisations nationwide who we encourage students to apply with for their Clinical Placement if they’re interested. We help support students who decide to take this path throughout the process.

Many students have the opportunity to complete their Clinical Placement with our Industry Partners, and even go on to enter the workforce as their employee following their positive placement experience!

  • Develop confidence in your foundational knowledge and hands-on skills to give yourself a head-start at university.
  • Become nationally qualified to immediately start working in the private emergency healthcare sector. You can do this while studying at university, meaning you’ll have more practical experience and be way more employable when you graduate.
  • Obtain university credits to shorten the length of your degree.
  • Start building a network of future university peers and industry colleagues.
  • Work your way up towards the degree if you didn’t get into university this time.
