FIFO Paramedic jobs in mining Queensland – FIFO Casual
MSS Security, are on the lookout again for qualified and experienced people who want to work for them as a casual FIFO Paramedic in the mines (QLD).
NOTE: Paramedic careers as an ESO in the mines don’t always mean you need a degree to apply for these roles. From personal experience with MSS, APC understands there is a need for Paramedic labour hire companies to supply qualified workers on contract basis to large mining clients all over Australia. These types of jobs are not limited to Queensland – MSS have operations right across Australia, diversifying in many industrial and commercial sectors.
For the most part, as you can read in this ad, the requirement to have the HLT51015 – Diploma of Paramedical Science is the highest level pre-hospital emergency health care qualification needed. Also not, it’s not unusual for a company like MSS to up-skill suitable ESO candidates to be truly ‘mine-ready’ emergency response personnel who can respond to any type of emergency on site.
Working on rotational rosters in the Queensland mining areas of the Mackay coalfields, these exciting opportunities include duties such as;
- First response to emergency incidents
- Participate and support FRT training on site
- Support site HSE activities (as required)

Essential Selection Criteria and Experience Required:
- 3-5 Years Mining industry experience
- 3-5 years Clinical/Industry Paramedic experience
- Diploma of Paramedical Science – or equivalent
- Hold current competencies in emergency patient care and resuscitation
- Current Police Clearance
- Professional
- Excellent customer service & interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment & autonomously
- Excellent personal presentation
- Ability to work undertake FIFO rotational roster (12 hour day and night shifts)
- Ability to work to client Fatigue Management Policies
- Sound computer skills – MS word, excel etc.
- Active previous professional experience working in the emergency services industry – (Fire Services, Defence Force or Mines Rescue)
- Safety background, experience or exposure highly regarded
