One of the UK’s Ambulance Services are searching for international paramedics to help meet their emergency health care demands, and with Australian paramedics being some of the best trained in the world they will likely look favourably on Aussie applicants. The South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust currently international paramedic jobs for people looking for paramedics who are current graduates, or due to graduate in 2016.
Based in the UK, the organisation is part of the National Health Service (NHS) providing services across Surrey, Sussex and Kent to an area covering 3,500 square miles and a population of 4.2 million. They respond to calls from the public, urgent calls from healthcare professionals as well as providing non-emergency services across the region and non-emergency patient transport services in Surrey (pre-booked patient journeys to and from healthcare facilities).
The South East Coast Ambulance Service wishes to recruit pro-active and committed individuals who are eligible to register with the Health Care and Professionals Council (HCPC) and hold a BTECH Level 4, DipHE, FdSc or BSc award in paramedic science or practice.
Applicants must also demonstrate care and compassion with patients and have a vast knowledge of pre-hospital care with the ability to deal with stressful and sensitive situations.
Prior to joining the service employees must also have a full EU driving license and hold a C1 category, or be willing to gain (an interest free loan will be made available for those who do not already hold this license).
The first step involves submitting an online NHS Jobs application form. Applicants will then be notified if they have been shortlisted.
Following this applicants will attend an assessment centre and complete a fitness assessment, Advanced Life Support clinical assessment and a structured/competency based interview (various dates will be offered over Skype.)
