Like everyone else, we were forced to change, adapt and pivot during the Covid-19 crisis in early 2020.
Suddenly, we were forced to postpone our Clinical Workshops across Australia and have all our staff members working from their homes.
We needed a way to continue to connect with our students and provide ongoing educational support throughout the isolation and lockdown period. The idea of “Live Trainer Chats” was born.
They are a weekly live chats, through Zoom, where our trainers go in-depth and discuss many different topics related to Paramedical studies. The chats are optional for our students but are very interactive. The trainers make use of the chat box Q&As, polls to quiz the students and breakout rooms where students break down into smaller groups to discuss particular questions posed by the trainers.
Some examples of topics that have been discussed so far are:
Live Trainer Chats are a free bonus for all current APC students. The Zoom access link is posted each week in the Student Forum and are streamed lived in the forum. The Trainer Chats are also recorded and saved on Moodle so students can refer back to them at any stage.
We offer three qualifications in the Health (HLT) scope:
HLT31120 – Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport
HLT41120 – Certificate IV in Health Care
HLT51020 – Diploma of Emergency Health Care
