Evolution Mining: Emergency Response & Risk Advisor Job

Evolution Mining is a leading, growth-focused Australian gold miner. Evolution operate five wholly-owned mines – Cowal in New South Wales; Mt Carlton, Mt Rawdon, and Cracow, in Queensland; and Mungari in Western Australia.

They are currently seeking and Advisor who can take control of Emergency Response, Risk, Health, Wellness and Injury Management for their Mt. Rawdon mining Operation.

Selection Criteria and Experience Required

• Minimum of Diploma in Paramedical Science or equivalent
• A minimum of 2 years operational experience in emergency safety & response officer capacity
• Certificate III Mine Emergency Response & Rescue
• Certificate IV Assessment & Workplace Training (TAE)
• Certificate IV in WHS

Reporting to the Safety, Health and Training Superintendent, the successful applicant will assist and support the development and implementation of all approved operational polices related to Emergency Response, Risk, Health, Wellness and Injury Management.

• 8:6 Roster
• Residential site – Must reside in Mt Perry or Gin Gin whilst on Shift
• Bus in Bus out

The Emergency Response & Risk Advisor will fulfill the following:

• Coordinate and facilitate Emergency Response Training
• Ensure all Emergency Response skills are maintained including Firefighting, Rope Rescue, Vehicle Rescue, Hazardous Materials Response and First Aid Services
• Provide input into the development of the Emergency Response Management System and support the rollout of the system across the operation
• Maintain accurate records in line to comply with the sites safety standards (Certificate IV in WHS)
• Manage and maintain health and injury records in accordance with legislative requirements
• Respond to all medical issues and emergencies
• Assist in arranging emergency medical evacuations, as needed RFDS, QLD Ambulance etc
• Operate and maintain on-site Emergency Response and Medical equipment
• Supervise the inventory, ordering, receiving and stocking of medical equipment and supplies of the first aid station
• Ensure that all safety and health related tasks, documents and training are carried out in accordance with Mines Safety Inspections Acts and Regulations
• Actively support the development and maintenance of the site Safety and Health Management System
• Deliver inductions and emergency/medical training packages to site based personnel
• Deliver high risk training including working at heights and confined space (Certificate IV Assessment & Workplace Training (TAE))
• Be responsible for coordination of Mine Emergency Response & Rescue
