Corporate Protection Australia Group has secured multiple mining sites located across the Bowen Basin and Mackay region of Queensland.

CPA Group stands alone in the industry by bundling their demonstrated capabilities across fire rescue, medical, security and associated integrated training.

They are seeking to hire experienced Emergency Services Officer Team Leaders. Applicants will be based across the Bowen Basin and Mackay or those who are willing to relocate to such areas will be considered favourably. A 7/7 roster is on offer for successful candidates.

Mandatory ESO Role Requirements:

  • Current Manual MR Driver’s Licence
  • Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response Rescue
  • Provide First Aid + CPR
  • Drug & Alcohol Testing Certificate
  • Standard 11 Mining Induction
  • Coal Board Medical
  • Immunisations for Tetanus and Hepatitis A & B must be up to date (evidence will be required)

Team Leader applicants will be required to meet the following additional requirements:

Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response Rescue

Minimum electives to be completed:

  • Certificate III – Mine Emergency Response and Rescue
  • PUAFIR207B Operate breathing apparatus open circuit
  • PUAFIR306B Render Hazardous Materials Incidents Safe
  • PUAFIR308B Employ Personal Protection at a Hazardous Materials Incident
  • PUASAR024A Undertake Road Crash Rescue
  • PUASAR032A Undertake Vertical Rescue
  • PUASAR025A Undertake Confined Space Rescue
  • RIIERR201D – Conduct fire team operations

In addition to the above applicants must be willing to undergo a functional capacity evaluation.

The role of the ESO is a favourable option for those people who are not looking to go to university to continue their paramedical qualifications to degree level. The private paramedic role in the industrial sector, such as mining and resources offers incredible opportunities for those who have attained a HLT51015-Diploma of Paramedical Science and are committed to furthering their career in the sector.

Although, the role of the ESO is secialised, the relevant qualifications can often be gained by employees who show exceptional motivation and attitude towards furthering their careers. Employers of ESO’s in the mining sector have been known to fund the training of new recruits to ensure they have the required qualifications before being allowed on site.
