With 2026 fast approaching, Hato Hone St John are seeking applications for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) roles to join their dedicated team as part of their Tertiary Employment Pathway.

About the pathway and hiring position

The Tertiary Employment Pathway is designed for the next generation of emergency healthcare workers who are eager to enter the workforce and have the chance to apply their studies in a real-world setting.

As part of the program, Hato Hone St John provides strong professional support, including training and clinical supervision, while offering hands-on experience in real emergency situations – building a solid foundation for future career progression.

Hato Hone St John are hiring permanent full time EMT’s who will benefit from all the program has to offer. They are looking to have qualified graduates join them across Auckland, Waikato and Central Aotearoa New Zealand.

Who can apply

For graduates of APC’s HLT51020 Diploma of Emergency Health Care, this is your opportunity to take the first step in your career!

As someone who has recently completed their course, you are eligible to apply and will find the Tertiary Employment Pathway incredibly valuable.

What you need to submit an application

As an APC Diploma graduate, to apply you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Completed the HLT51020 Diploma of Emergency Health Care with Australian Paramedical College (APC) within the last two years.
  • Hold a Full NZ Driver’s Licence (with at least one year of experience) or an Australian Full Driver’s Licence and either have completed an NZTA approved advanced driving course or meet NZ driving standards.
  • Have a current CV, cover letter, and academic transcript (or screenshot of grades) ready for submission.

The next intake for this program is in February and March 2026, and applications close on Monday 29th September 2025, so make sure to submit your application before the deadline.
