Yes. Australian Paramedical College (APC) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 32513), which means our nationally recognised qualifications are delivered under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). When you successfuly complete your course, your qualification is formally issued by APC and recorded through your Unique Student Identifier (USI) transcript as an official record of your Australian vocational education and training (VET) achievement. Our qualifications are recognised nationally by employers, industry, and other registered training providers across Australia.

APC provides a pathway into emergency healthcare and further study; however, becoming a registered paramedic in Australia requires meeting registration requirements set by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).  

Since Paramedic registration was introduced in Australia in 2018, the title “Paramedic” has become a protected professional title, and new applicants generally need to complete an approved pathway, typically including an accredited bachelor degree in paramedicine.  Many students choose APC as a foundational and alternative pathway because our qualifications help develop relevant emergency healthcare knowledge, practical skills, and industry experience, often resulting in employment in the sector, before progressing to further study.  

APC qualifications are designed to prepare students for roles across the emergency healthcare sector, including patient transport, first response and event medical, industrial and mining emergency response, and other patient-facing healthcare environments.  

Career opportunities depend on the qualification completed, your experience, and employer requirements. Many students choose APC as their first step into emergency healthcare, while others use their qualification to progress their existing healthcare career, or continue to further study at University.

Many students choose APC because they are looking for an alternative pathway into emergency healthcare without needing an ATAR or traditional university entry pathway.  Our courses are designed for students from a range of backgrounds, including school leavers, career changers, and people already working in healthcare.  Entry requirements vary between qualifications, and our Course Advisors can help you understand the pathway that best suits your goals.  

Yes. While APC offers flexible learning, our qualifications are designed around real emergency healthcare environments and include practical training and assessment.
