APC Wins Gold at the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards!

 Published 23rd October, 2023.

Australian Paramedical College (APC) is delighted to share the news of our latest win at the esteemed Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards. Highlighting our commitment to Vocational Education and Training (VET), APC has been awarded the Education, Training and Employment award for October 2023.

A Guide of the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards

In operation for 28 years, the awards are ‘the region’s most comprehensive and prestigious business awards scheme, offering specific and meaningful benefits to the wider Gold Coast business community‘. Whilst it originally recognised family businesses, they have since developed to encompass 12 categories for businesses to apply for. Highlighting the importance of businesses that better the communities of the Gold Coast, we couldn’t be more thankful for our win.

Held annually and throughout May – October, winners are announced for each category at the awards. Winners from each category will go head-to-head at the Gala Awards held in December and sponsored by Dreamweavers – Event Creators and Producers. Of these additional winners, a final “Gold Coast Business of the Year” will also be announced.

The award: Education Training and Employment

Sponsored by Study Gold Coast, the Education, Training and Employment Award at the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards, “recognises businesses who have demonstrated growth and success through business excellence in the education, training and employment sectors.” Operating since 2011, APC started as a small family-run business located on the Gold Coast and has since grown to new heights, with nearly 50 team members based all across Australia!

Whilst APC team members are located in different parts of the nation, we’re proud to maintain our headquarters in Burleigh Heads, Queensland. This purpose-built state-of-the-art training facility houses a lecture room, injection and cannulation practising stations, scenario-based training rooms, a custom-built simulated practice ambulance, and state-ambulance-used transport vehicles.

In early February this year, we successfully reached 1,000 graduates across the nation. We pride ourselves on this milestone, but can’t help but reflect and thank our students who helped us reach this achievement. Being a student-centered education provider, our students have the drive to change their lives, so that they can save lives. We cannot thank them enough for all that they have done to assist APC in our growth today.

This growth, coupled with the positive impact APC is having in the education sector, is precisely why we were a strong candidate in our category for the award and ultimately recognised as the winner.

Who is Australian Paramedical College?

APC is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that offers nationally-recognised training through our HLT51020 – Diploma of Emergency Health Care, HLT41120 – Certificate IV in Health Care and HLT31120 – Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport. These courses allow individuals to be industry-ready and employable upon graduation within several career pathways, or allow them to pursue APC’s Diploma pathway to become a paramedic.

APC’s courses are completed mostly online but do have a practical component, coined as Clinical Workshops. These workshops operate in QLD, NSW, VIC and WA and allow students to gain hands-on experience before heading out into the world for Clinical Placement. Self-directed, APC provides students with the choice as to where they wish to conduct their placement, however we do also offer industry-leading options through our student-loved “Industry Partnerships”. We’re proud to partner with over 16 organisations with the likes of St John VIC and WA, Crown Melbourne, and Medical Edge Australia to ensure our students gain quality placement experiences through quality providers. These initiatives help provide real employment pathways for students upon graduation too, ensuring they’re well-prepared for their career ahead with real experience already under their belt.

Every interaction a patient has with someone in emergency and non-emergency healthcare can make a huge impact on their lives. That’s why we’ve dedicated the last 10+ years to preparing individuals to make a real difference in people’s lives. We’re proud to be Australia’s leading specialist college for emergency and non-emergency healthcare, actively training the next generation of healthcare professionals.

The next step for APC

APC will be attending the Gala held on the 2nd of December to hopefully take home an additional win (or two!) alongside our fellow Gold Coast businesses who have won throughout the last eight months. We’ll be sure to share the event through our LinkedIn,X,Instagram and Facebook platforms too, so watch this space!
