Clinical Workshops in Newcastle, NSW

Australian Paramedical College update

January 2021 marked the first time we have hosted a Clinical Workshop in Newcastle, NSW.

Over the space of 2 weeks, we had 9 Newcastle students complete Clinical Workshop 1 (7 Days), followed by 9 students completing Clinical Workshop 2 (additional 7 days).

The workshops were intensive and allowed our Newcastle students to put their theoretical knowledge into practice, with real hands-on simulated scenario training.

During the Workshops, our Newcastle students learned Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Live Support (ALS). This includes but is not limited to; airway management, primary and secondary survey, ECGs, patient extrication, trauma care and drug administration.

Our training venue in Newcastle is extensive and allowed for some excellent simulated training scenarios in playgrounds, sports fields, and other common areas that Medic’s attend to in real life.

Some of our Newcastle students have aspirations to become registered Paramedics and are using this Diploma as a pathway to gain entry into University to study a Bachelors of Paramedicine.

This review is from a student who completed Clinical Workshop 2 in Newcastle with Trainers Kristy and Kasey.
