Paramedic Pathway Courses: Alternative to Uni Part 1

Do you have the desire to become a paramedic but don’t know what paramedic courses you need to take? Maybe you have already looked into the training and experience that ambulance services and other emergency health providers require you to have and it all feels overwhelming.

There truly are so many healthcare and emergency healthcare courses out there that it can be rather confusing to know what your best option is. There is a growing push these days to encourage enrollment in university paramedic courses, since bachelor degree-level education is becoming more and more a requirement.

But, does that mean that you need to enroll in that paramedic degree right away? Is that the only option that can help you start your journey to becoming a paramedic? I don’t think so, and here is why.

Alternate Option: Paramedic Pathway Courses

If going to university full-time is not feasible at the moment, then there are other alternatives, for example HLT51020 – Diploma of Emergency Health Care. This diploma-level course can be mostly completed online, in your own time. The course will equip you with the knowledge required to then transition into university and/or immediately enter the workforce as a medic.

The bachelor in paramedic degree could cost a whopping $45,000. That’s why most students end up taking loans. Completing a diploma first will help you start earning relatively early, and then you can complete your degree while working and pay fees on your own.
