It’s only natural to doubt your own learning abilities because the subject of paramedics may seem too difficult to even begin to understand where to start. Perhaps you did not do so well at school, or maybe you’ve had one or two learning experiences in the past that really rattled your confidence.
Those experiences can create all manner of anxiety and frustration for you because deep in your heart, you know your passion lies in helping people and pre-hospital emergency health care is the perfect career choice for you.
So if you’re doubting whether or not you could do these types of courses, STOP! The College can help you become a better learner by giving you the tools and assistance to make that happen.
The Language, Literacy and Numeracy Program (LLN) we offer, helps you improve your writing, comprehension, spelling and math skills to build your confidence.
We offer this to you because we know from experience, with a little bit of help, you can achieve great things – even though at the moment, you may be doubting yourself.
We’d also like you to imagine how it feels to have the unlimited support of highly experienced paramedic clinical educators/instructors a mere phone call, email, or Skype session away? So if you feel like you need to talk with someone whilst progressing through your training – help is always at hand. There’s no limit to the amount of support you receive. If you need to call us every day, that’s fine.
90% of the learning is completed online and everything is well laid out in an easy-to-follow format. You’ll be shown what learning material to read first, then you answer questions about what you’ve just read.
There is a mixture of multi-choice and long/short answer questions [there are no 2000 word assignments to complete].
As the course moves through different topics, quizzes are completed, then you move on to the next topic.
You will be allocated your own study, time management and reflective effective learning plan which, when followed correctly, means you could complete the course quicker than you ever expected. Following this plan allows you to learn in a flexible way that suits your current situation and lifestyle.
We’ve also built for you a vibrant student paramedic community on facebook, so you can chat with other students who are following the same pathway as you. So no matter whether you live in Woy Woy, Wagga Wagga, Bondi, St.Kilda, Cairns or Adelaide – there is always someone to talk with and help you along the way.
Many of our students who live close to one another, create their own study groups and meet socially to accelerate their learning – there’s no end to the support system and no end to the possibilities.
So no matter what your past learning experiences, learning to become a paramedic with the Australian Paramedical College can be fun, engaging, rewarding and something you really can do with our perpetual help and support. We’re here to support you, every step of the way and if you trust us to help you realise your dream of becoming a paramedic…we’ll get you there.
